This is a teacup poodle I met the other day.

It sucks to be sick and to be a mother. It’s not like your job can just be put on hold while you’re passed out on the couch.

Today, I’m just sick enough that moving/thinking hurts, but I’m still up early with The Midge. DialogDog helped her get breakfast, and she managed to get dressed with minimal input from me. However, I still have to get her to the bus stop in a while.

I wonder if the bus driver would understand if I just sent her out in the middle of the street in front of our house to flag the bus down as opposed to me walking her the half block to the corner… .

I'm not sure if this is really a hawk or not, but it sure was scary when it started buzzing me.

It took me almost six months, but I finally finished my first successful knitted apparel attempt. Here it is:

Unlike the socks I knitted, which were meant for a person with six toes, I might actually wear this piece.

It’s one big knitted piece that required a minimal amount of actual sewing, which is a good thing since I’m a terrible seamstress. (Ironic, since I am the daughter of a woman who sews designer wedding gowns by hands for a living… .)

Next up, an actual sweater with sleeves! (That should take me a year or so….)

DialogDog did the Deer Creek Challenge today -- a 100-mile bike ride with a climb of more than 12,000 feet.
